About

The Start of Lily Dog Trails

Back in 2017, as a late New Years resolution, I decided to go somewhere new or do something new every week. It ended up being myself and Lily walking in many beautiful places. I thought it would be great to start a blog and share all these amazing walking. And so, with my best friend by my side, Lily Dog Trails, was born.

In 2022, we decided to set up our shop, filled with natural enrichment for dogs. We have lots of new items coming in regularly so make sure you keep an eye out on the website and our social media channels.

Meet the Team

Meet the two most important ladies in the team, Lily and Xena. (And their assistant Charlotte.)

Lily 🌈

Our legacy will continue for Lily. Lily was our amazing Heinz 57 dog. I always told people she was a Corgi cross, but we had her DNA tested and it came back 25% German Sheperd, 25% Border Collie, 25% Cocker Spaniel and 25% unknown! So only Lily really knew her true identity! I would still say Corgi cross with her beautiful big ears and fluffy bum. Lily was my inspiration for many things in life and it's only right to continue Lily Dog Trails in her memory.

We rescued Lily in 2012 from the RSCPA when she was about 3/4 years old, and she was a little ray of sunshine. I was lucky to have 11 incredible years with her and create such a legacy for her. In May 2023, we had the incredibly hard decision to let her go over the rainbow bridge. As many dog (and other pet) owners know, it's a pain that can't be described, but knowing she's at peace and no longer in pain gives me comfort. But what I would do to snuggle into those big ears one more time!

Xena

Xena is a 20-month-old Doberman. Full name, Xena Warrior Princess Devil Dog. We adopted Xena from Dogs Trust when she was 4-months-old. She had been put through so much in such a short time. Xena is a smuggled puppy, illegally brought into the country and seized at quarantine where Dogs Trust stepped in to help out as they do for many smuggled puppies. You'll notice her ears and tail have been cropped, this is something that was done before she came into the country and it has definitely affected how she interacts with people.

Keeping up with the Doberman stereotype, she's a real goof! She loves all dogs, even ones that don't love her. Even with all her behavioural 'quirks', she has us laughing every day. We still have a big journey with her but we are in this for the long run!

Charlotte

I'm a typical Yorkshire girl, with a love for exploring, travel and adventure. I'm originally from West Yorkshire, so in a great place to travel to the Yorkshire Dales, Peak District and often up to the Lake District. We have recently moved to the East Coast, with a huge beach and a short trip to the North York Moors. The opportunity for exploring is endless. Nothing beats being in the middle of nowhere, looking out to a naturally fantastic view.

I'm a huge lover of all animals, but I have a soft spot for dogs. I've worked for over 3 years in the animal welfare industry and I'm passionate about helping where I can.
